In last week's blog post, I talked a bit about some changes we recently made in our living room. Though small, these updates have made a pretty big impact on how we feel about the current design situation in our living room. It got me thinking more and more about small changes and updates - sometimes they're so small, they don't even feel significant enough to share. In fact, if you had walked into my house last week and then again this week, I'm not totally sure you'd even notice that anything had changed - but as one of the people living here and making all of these small design decisions, I can definitely say that I'm happier with my home this week than I was last week - and I'm pretty sure I'll be even happier with it next week after making even more small changes over the coming days! So why don't we celebrate the little things? The tiny tweaks that make ALL the difference? Don't these humble changes all eventually add up to what makes a house a home? Sometimes it's a thrift store find or a shiny new houseplant, and sometimes it's just a matter of rearranging what's already there. Regardless, I'm determined to start celebrating these small things and give them the attention they deserve, which is why I'm starting a brand new series here on the blog: Wise Apple Weekly! There may not be any room overhauls or fully remodeled spaces, but I can guarantee there will be plenty of peeks into my home, my daily life, and into what makes me smile - because that's what Wise Apple Vintage is and always has been all about - finding the things that put a skip in your step and a smile on your face! So, without further ado, here's what's new this week! 
I did a whole lot of rearranging in the studio this week, tidying up and preparing for the busy holiday season ahead. My studio is FULL of colorful goodies that help to get those creative juices flowing - but I appreciate them all a lot more when they're all tucked away and organized just so. 
A trip to the flea market last weekend resulted in all kinds of fun finds! Gorgeous peppers from a local farmer, a wee collection of colorful vintage matchbooks, and an array of planters, knick-knacks, and kitchen cuties headed to the shop in the next couple of weeks. I always love going to the flea market at the end of the season because vendors are way more willing to make a deal! 
And in plant-related news (because there's always plant-related news to report in our house!), I re-potted our snake plant earlier in the week when I discovered a brand new shoot popping up and threatening to break its old planter! I adopted the plant a few years ago when a family friend's mother passed away and left a few plants behind that needed homes - I like to think she's sitting on a cloud, looking down at this wee little snake-plant-baby and giving me a big, green thumbs up. I'm also proud to say one of my planters full of succulent bits is propagating nicely and has the most fabulous neon pink roots popping out of each leaf! 
As I was cleaning up my studio, I discovered a broken pair of vintage salt and pepper shakers I'd been hanging on to - the caps had rusted through, but the little ceramic shakers were so cute, I couldn't stand to just ditch them. This week they found a home in our bathroom - once I discarded the caps, they made the perfect little vases for some house plant cuttings! We also picked out the perfect spot to mount a bentwood hanging planter I thrifted a while back - it's currently sitting in one of the plant-iest corners of the house, waiting to be hung. I can't wait! 
Last but not least, I thrifted the cutest planter ever! It's an earthenware giraffe planter that was designed by Leah Reena Goren for Anthropologie, and it's just so whimsical and wonderful. Plus, it has a drainage hole - be still my plant-lovin' heart! So far I've just tucked one wee succulent succulent inside, but I have a few more propagation projects that should be big enough to join the party soon!
